Lady Justice depicts justice as equipped with three symbols: a sword symbolizing the court's coercive power; a human scale weighing competing claims in each hand; and a blindfold. The blindfold represents objectivity, in that justice is (or should be) meted out objectively, without fear or favor, regardless of identity, money, power, or weakness; blind justice and blind impartiality.

Award winning Artist, Geraldine Arata is a native San Franciscan with a Bachelors of Fine Art Degree from San Francisco State University, and a Master of Fine Art degree from the Academy of Art University San Francisco.
